时间：6月2日 上午10时 – 下午2时
地点：UAB Mini Park （在University Blvd south，13和14街之间）
活动安排暂定：（分年龄组， 老少咸宜， 提供奖品）有拔河， 套圈， 立定跳远， 乒乓球，打擂台， 两人夹球， 踩气球， 三条腿， 丢球， 跳绳， 躲球， 踢键子和呼拉圈等。
食品提供：热狗，粽子，茶叶蛋，西瓜和饮料等。
这是一次给我们大家提供亲子活动，家庭团聚和朋友交流的大好机会。请大家积极参加并提出更好建议！

The BCA board had a meeting on Aril 4, 2012. The following issue was discussed:
We are going to have a party!
Person in charge: Hongwei Qin, Bing Wang and Min Sun
Time: June 2, 2012 10am – 2pm
Location: UAB Mini Park (between 13th and 14th Street South along University Blvd)
Activities: There will be a lot of activities for all ages, especially for young kids. (Prizes will be awarded)
Food court will provide: Hot dogs, Chinese star cakes, tea eggs, water melons and drinks, etc.
This event will give us an opportunity to have parents and children playing together, families and friends gathering. Please join in our party to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival!

中国木偶戏将来本市演出

We are a Chinese puppet group called Dragon Art Studio located in Portland Oregon, is the only professional Chinese Puppet Theater in the US. We have performed in various theater, school, libraries and museums since 1996 and the response has been great. The places we have been include: the Kennedy Center, the Library of Congress, National Folk Festivals, etc.
Dragon Art puppeteers Yuqin Wang and Zhengli Xu were honored by the National Endowment for the Arts, which presented them with the 2004 National Heritage Fellowship Award, the highest honor our nation gives to folk and traditional artists.
We will touring in Birmingham during March 28 to April 1, 2012 and perform at Birmingham Children's Theatre and Alabama Asian Cultures and Food Festival. Because it's long way to travel and will be our first time in the town, we would like to know more people and want to let more people know us too, especially from our Chinese community. We will appreciate if you pass this message to more people who may interested in watching our show.

張燕喜指出，伯明罕的所有的華人都是一家人，無論同胞會、學生會、商會或是春節慶典活動，雖然每一個團體的性質不同，但大家的目的則相同，就是提供華人社區更好的服務和娛樂活動，她認為彼此應該互相支持和協助。該會董事並熱烈討論2012年的工作計畫，包括：更新同胞會通訊錄、6月23日舉辦端午節慶祝活動、第2屆伯明罕華人達人秀將於8月18日舉行、適機邀請Vestavia Hills市長及教育局負責人校長舉辦講座，提供華人家長有關子女教育的資訊。

BCA had the first meeting this year on February 18, 2012. All the board members were present. They are: Yanxi Zhang-President, Yiu-Fai Chen - Treasurer, Peizhi (Mary) Zhou - Secretary. 9 board members: Jing Li, Yue Li, Wei-Chung Lin. Hongwei Qin, Min Sun, Bing Wang, Zhiying You, Rusheng Zhang and Wei Zhang. President Yanxi Zhang summarized the work the board did in the past year and the supports and efforts that the BCA board members provided to the Chinese festival and Chinese acrobatic performance. Ms Zhang stressed that since all the organizations (BCA, CSSA, CABAB and BCFA) are working for the Chinese people. We should support and provide help to all the activities. The board members had a warm discussion about the BCA work plan for year 2012-
1. Publishing the newly BCA membership directory. Persons in Charge: Mary Zhou & Bing Wang.
2. Dragon-Boat Festival’s activity on June 23. Persons in charge: Wei-Chung Lin
3. The 2nd Birmingham Chinese’s Got Talent show on August 18.
4. Inviting the mayor of Vestavia Hills, the president of the Board of Education and school principals to give Chinese parents speeches.
At the end of the meeting, the board members had a group picture taken.
Please provide your suggestions. Be well prepared and join in our activities.
Chinese Language Engagement on Naturalization (Telephonic Meeting 2/16/12 @ 10:30 am)

On Thursday, February 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., USCIS will conduct a national Chinese-language engagement (Jiao liú) session as part of our ongoing series of multilingual public engagements. Each Jiao liú session focuses on an immigration-related topic and includes a presentation and Q&A session with USCIS officials. During the Jiao liú session, USCIS spokespersons provide explanations of the law, regulations, and forms, but do not offer legal advice or provide case specific information.
Our first national Jiao liú session will promote the Office of Citizenship’s initiative: The Naturalization Process – Becoming a United States Citizen. The event will be broadcast live from our San Francisco Field Office and stakeholders may participate in person, via teleconference by calling 1-800-475-8388 (password: Jiao liú), or via live Web stream at http://www.uscis.gov/stream/Live
